Pinch quickstart
Pinch is a proof-of-work blockchain with collateral deals and public, weighted ratings. This page gets you from zero to a first deal in four steps.
1. Add the Pinch network to your wallet
Any EVM wallet works (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Rabby and others). Add a custom network with these values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Pinch |
| RPC URL | https://pinch.network/rpc |
| Chain ID | 5261646 |
| Currency symbol | PINCH |
| Block explorer | https://pinch.network/explorer |
The Pinch site also has an "Add Pinch to wallet" button that fills these in for you. Check that the chain ID is exactly 5261646: tokens called "PINCH" on other networks are unrelated to Pinch.
2. Get PINCH
PINCH is created only by mining. There was no premine and there is no sale. You can:
- Mine it with the Pinch miner (see Mining guide). From block 20,000 your reward address must hold a minimum balance before it can mine.
- Receive it from someone who already holds PINCH, by a normal transfer to your address.
3. Open your first deal
Open the Deals app on the Pinch site and connect your wallet.
- Enter the payee's address, the amount and a deadline (1 to 90 days), then confirm in your wallet. The amount is now locked for the payee.
- When you receive what you paid for, press Approve and pay B. The payee is paid at once.
- If you do nothing until the deadline, the deal becomes eligible for payment; use Finalize (claim) to transfer it to the payee.
- If something goes wrong, you and the payee can agree on a split, or you can Stop the deal: the money is then frozen for 180 days and returns to you afterwards, and only the payee may rate you.
The full rules are in the Deals guide.
4. Check anything on the explorer
Every block, transaction, address and deal profile is public on the explorer. Search by address to see a profile: deals, partners, volume, stops and weighted rating.
Wallet and network
- Nobody from Pinch will ever ask for your private key or recovery phrase. The miner and the apps only need your address.
